Giving next steps
There are three types of financial commitments you can make to Lighthouse Church.
We encourage you to partner with us in building God’s kingdom while growing in generosity.
Ready to take a next step in consistent giving? We want to come alongside you in your journey.
01
FAITH BUILDERS
Faith Builders commit to a monthly contribution of less than 10% of their personal income. This is a great first step of faith for those learning to embrace the principle of the tithe. This is not a place to settle, but it’s a good place to start.
02
HOUSE BUILDERS
House Builders commit to tithing – giving the first ten percent of one’s income to God through the local church. The tithe is a principle for God’s people taught in scripture and is referenced regularly during Sunday services.
03
KINGDOM BUILDERS
Kingdom Builders go above and beyond the tithe by also bringing an offering. This group helps accelerate the vision projects of LHT by partnering with us through sacrificial generosity. Click here to learn more.
THE 90 DAY TITHE CHALLENGE
TAKE THE 90 DAY TITHE CHALLENGE
GOD INVITES US TO TEST HIM.
There is only ONE place in the Bible where God invites people to test him, and it is in the area of our finances.
This one place is in Malachi 3.10, where God says:
“Bring all the tithes into my house… if you do, I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!”
WHY TITHE?
Tithing is not just about money.
It’s a reflection of where our heart is in relation to God. We give in response to Jesus. We give because God owns it all, and we are putting him first in our lives above all other things.
We want you to be able to experience the joy of trusting Jesus in all areas of our life, which includes our finances.
This step you’re taking is a step of faith and we are excited to see God move in amazing ways.
We also want to come alongside you with encouragement and inspiring stories throughout your journey.
WHAT IS TITHING?
Tithing is giving the first 10% of our income back to God through his house (the local church).
Your tithe should be given to the church where you attend.
WHY TAKE THIS CHALLENGE?
This challenge is a commitment to bring back to God your tithe, your first 10% for 90 days. Throughout the 90 days, we will send encouragement and resources so that you can continue to grow in your faith.
At the end of 90 days, you will have experienced God caring for you and nurturing you in your journey of faith. We believe that you will continue to honor God with the tithe because you have seen Him work wonders in your life.
God is faithful to his word and his promises and you are going to experience him in a new and fresh way. We can’t wait to see how God moves in your life as you take this step.

WHAT IS TITHING?
"Tithe" means "a tenth of."
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A TITHE AND AN OFFERING?
A "tithe" is giving the first tenth of my income.
An "offering" is anything I give in addition to my tithe.
WHY SHOULD I TITHE?
Because God commands it.
"A tenth of all you produce is the Lord's."
Leviticus 27.30
Because Jesus commands it.
"Yes, you should tithe, and you shoudn't leave the more important things undone either."
Matthew 23.23
Tithing demonstrates that God has first place in my life.
"The purpose of tithing is to teach you to always put God in first place in your lives."
Deuteronomy 14.23 (LB)
Tithing reminds me that everything I have was given to me by God.
"Always remember that it is the Lord your God who gives you the abilitiy to produce wealth."
Deuteronomy 8.18
Tithing expresses my love to the Lord.
"Each of you should bring a gift in proportion to the way the Lord your God has blessed you."
Deuteronomy 16.17
God says that refusing to tithe is stealing from Him.
"God says, 'will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing me!' But you ask, 'How do we rob you?' God says, 'In tithe and offerings... Bring your whole tithe to My house.'"
Malachi 3.8-10
Tithing gives God a chance to prove He exists and wants to bless you.
"Bring your whole tithe to My storehouse. Test me in this" says the Lord, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you won't
have room enough for it!"
Malachi 3.10
